Training & Support - Emberly Chimney Cleaners

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Training & Ongoing Support

You do not need to know how to sweep a chimney before we hand you the standards, the systems, and the phone number of someone who does. Emberly Chimney Cleaners has inspected and cleaned more than 38,000 chimneys since 2009, and every one of those jobs left a documented record. That documentation is not just a customer promise. It is also a training tool. The archive exists so a new owner can see exactly what a failing clay liner looks like on camera before they ever put a brush to a flue. We teach the trade, but we teach the standard first.

Initial Training

Week one starts with the Haven Standard, not a ladder. You learn the five values the way a technician learns a job site: Have it in writing. Arrive on schedule. Verified crews. Evidence on every job. No surprises. Each one is a clause, and each clause has a procedure attached to it. Clause 1 means a written price, written scope, and written warranty before anyone starts. That is not a suggestion. It is the reason our owners do not spend their first six months apologizing to homeowners.

From there, you learn the trade. Camera-scan inspection to NFPA 211 Level 2, which means putting a camera down the flue rather than pointing a flashlight up it. You learn to read creosote stages, identify cracked tile liners, and recognize what a failing mortar crown looks like before it becomes a leak. You also learn the software: our scheduling system, the photo archive, the customer record trail. Then hiring and marketing basics, built around the idea that a background-checked technician with a license number on the page beats a bigger ad budget. No prior chimney experience required. Prior standards, however, are non-negotiable.

Launch Support

Opening the doors is when most new owners find out what their training missed. We try to make sure that list is short. Your launch starts with local marketing setup built for one job: getting a homeowner with a question to pick up the phone. That means the listing, the website, the service pages, and the pricing page. It means making sure your phone number routes to a live person, not a voicemail, because our customer base researches before they call and they do not call twice.

The lead engine is already running. The brand has been generating chimney service demand since 2009, and a new territory plugs into that system rather than starting from zero. During your first jobs, you are not riding alone. Our field support team walks you through quoting, camera documentation, and what to do when a Level 2 inspection finds a liner that should have been replaced a decade ago. You will learn to say what you found, not what you felt about it. That sentence alone saves new owners six months of confusion.

Ongoing Support

  • Field coaching and ride-alongs. A support rep reviews camera footage with you, helps with difficult quotes, and makes sure your documentation meets Clause 4 before it goes to the customer.
  • Marketing systems and templates. You get campaign materials built around the Haven Standard, not generic chimney clip art. The promise is the pitch.
  • Vendor relationships through Haven’s buying network. DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield materials sourced at rates that keep your prices honest and your margin real.
  • Technology updates. The photo archive, scheduling system, and customer record tools are maintained for you. When the software changes, the training materials change with it.
  • National brand campaigns. We run the kind of advertising that makes a homeowner recognize the name before you knock. You run the local business that delivers on it.
  • Live support line. Questions about a quote, a warranty issue, or a strange job come to a person who has seen the same thing before. You are not sorting through a knowledge base at midnight.
